چکیده

There are two types of planetary noble gases. One containing isotopically " anomalous: argon ,krypton and xenon but isotopically " normal " helium and neon, was derived from outer stellar regions. The other, consisting almost entirely of isotopically " normal " argon, krypton and xenon with little or no helium or neon, was derived from inner stellar regions. Mixing of nucleosynthesis products from different regions of a supernova is responsible for the observed correlations between elemental and isotopic rations of planetary noble gases in different classes of meteorites. The solar system condensed directly frm the chemically and isotopically heterogeneous debris of a single supernova. There is no convincing evidence, however of separate nucleogenetic components in neon. Variations in the abundance pattern of planetary noble gases are primarily the result of stellar fusion reactions and physical adsorption, rather than gas solubility.

Noble-gas hydrides: new chemistry at low temperatures.

Noble-gas chemistry has been undergoing a renaissance in recent years, due in large part to noble-gas hydrides, HNgY, where Ng = noble-gas atom and Y = electronegative fragment. These molecules are exceptional because of their relatively weak bonding and large dipole moments, which lead to strongly enhanced effects of the environment, complexation, and reactions. In this Account, we discuss the...

Groundwater helium anomaly reflects strain change during the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake in Southwest Japan

Geochemical monitoring of groundwater and soil gas emission pointed out precursor and/or coseismic anomalies of noble gases associated with earthquakes, but there was lack of plausible physico-chemical basis. A laboratory experiment of rock fracturing and noble gas emission was conducted, but there is no quantitative connection between the laboratory results and observation in field. We report ...

The Possibility of Selective Adsorption and Sensing of the Noble Gaseous Species by the C20 Fullerene, the Graphene Sheets, and the N4B4 Cluster

There are only a handful reports about the sensor systems having the ability of detecting the existence of the noble gases. Chemical reluctance of these gaseous species causes them to have no chemical interactions like hydrogen bonding with the chemically designed nano-sized sensors. Noble gasses usually have no atomic charges nor do change the total polarity of the molecular sensor systems. Th...

Synthesis of refractory organic matter in the ionized gas phase of the solar nebula.

In the nascent solar system, primitive organic matter was a major contributor of volatile elements to planetary bodies, and could have played a key role in the development of the biosphere. However, the origin of primitive organics is poorly understood. Most scenarios advocate cold synthesis in the interstellar medium or in the outer solar system. Here, we report the synthesis of solid organics...

The Accretionary Origin of Noble Gases in the Earth’s Mantle

Introduction: An outstanding problem in the Earth and planetary sciences is the source and mechanism by which the Earth-like planets accreted their highly volatile elements. Unlike highly refractory elements, which preserve close to solar proportions in even quite evolved meteorites and the inner planets, moderately refractory and more volatile elements are depleted relative to the highly refra...
